Scores
This page links you to examples of my work. The files are presented in three formats: MP3, General MIDI and Sibelius. I am still playing with my digital audio so the MP3s are of differing bit-resolutions and sizes. Also, they haven't all been loaded yet. The Sibelius format requires a plug-in from Sibelius, but has the fascinating advantage of letting you see the score in real time and interact with it to a certain extent. Click the Sibelius link above or below to download the plug-in. For the choral works, I would suggests playing the MP3, but following the Sibelius Score. That would entail clicking the MP3 link to start the download and then clicking the Sibelius link so that the score displays. There are navigational buttons on the Sibelius applet to allow you to flip between pages. Remember the sheets you are looking at are 8.5 x 11 or larger so sometimes there is more than one system per page. [Ignore that if it makes no sense to you...]A quick note about MIDI: The sounds you hear are being generated by your computer software/hardware configuration and will sound different on almost every machine. The notes, dynamics, articulations [to a certain extent] are coming from the music I have written. Sometimes I write something good that sounds bad coming out of the computer, sometimes I write something less than wonderful that sounds great coming out of the computer. No matter what, the sounds coming out of the computer are not what the real musician would make. And I don't know that the computer ever will sound like the humans. I am probably wrong. Anyway, all of this music is intended to be played by real musicians on real instruments. Use your imagination, gentle reader, to fill in the gaps between the technology and the music.
